Kelo's Revenge

There is a group right now who is trying to use the recent Kelo decision against one of the judges who voted in favor of New London in the recent SCOTUS decision.

FreestarMedia, LLC proposes building an ironically named hotel on the property currently owned by Justice David Souter. His request includes the following:

Although this property is owned by an individual, David H. Souter, a recent Supreme Court decision, "Kelo vs. City of New London" clears the way for this land to be taken by the Government of Weare through eminent domain and given to my LLC for the purposes of building a hotel. The justification for such an eminent domain action is that our hotel will better serve the public interest as it will bring in economic development and higher tax revenue to Weare.

RE: Downing Street Memo

From my blog:

Thanks to MyDD and dKos and The Heretik I was apprised of the downing street memo. I signed the petition, and got this in retun:

...Despite desperate attempts by Republicans to disrupt the proceedings, 32 Members of Congress attended this hearing. We were forced to use a cramped room in the basement of the Capitol little bigger than a closet, even though plenty of larger hearing rooms were available. The Republican Leadership also scheduled votes for nearly two straight hours in an unprecedented attempt to limit the ability of Democratic Members of Congress to participate in this hearing...

from John Conyers, (D) MI.

Glad to say I was a part of 560k individuals who chose to petition for more information regarding this memo. I think the truth needs to come out, no matter what that truth may be, and I think that the means by which the current regime is trying to delay and stall and obfuscate the proceedings speaks to a sense of wrongdoing. Well, their nuts are in a vice right now, and it's only going to get tighter. Everyone needs to keep the pressure on.

mine is but one voice, and so is yours. Together, we can affect change.
